Cancelling Your Appointment

Why Bother Cancelling?

Every month over 200 patients fail to keep their appointments and don’t cancel. This is a huge number, and very frustrating when we know there is massive demand for appointments. We would ask that, wherever possible, you contact us to let us know if you are unable to attend, we will then be able to re-book that appointment for another patient.

You’re probably aware that nationally, GP appointments aren’t always as easy to get as we’d like – so it’s frustrating for everybody when they are unnecessarily wasted.

If you wish to cancel an appointment, you can phone the surgery on 0161 983 9090, or do it through the NHS App / Online Access.

Please let us know your name, date of birth and appointment details.

Lateness Policy

To ensure that all clinics run to time please arrive just before your allocated appointment time.

As part of our aim to reduce patient waiting time, Cheadle Medical Practice operates a lateness policy.

If you are more than 15 minutes late for a routine appointment, we will ask you to rebook as the clinician will be seeing their next patient.

If you are more than 15 minutes late for an urgent appointment, the clinician will see you after the patients who are waiting and arrived on time for their appointment have been seen.
