We want all patients to feel comfortable, respected, and supported during their care.
If you are having an examination and would like a chaperone present, please let your clinician know. You can request a chaperone for any type of examination, not just intimate examinations.
A chaperone is a trained member of our practice team who is there to support you, help maintain your dignity, and provide reassurance during the examination.
You are welcome to have a family member or friend with you if you wish, but this does not replace the role of a trained chaperone.
Our chaperones are trained, DBS-checked members of staff, and we will try to accommodate any preferences you may have, such as the gender of the chaperone.
If you would like a chaperone, please tell us when booking your appointment or speak to your clinician before the examination begins.
