Patient Information

Here you can find out how to register at our practice and read other important information for patients.

You can find out more by clicking on the links.

We aim to treat our patients courteously at all times and expect our patients to treat our staff in a similarly respectful way. It is your responsibility to keep your appointments, inform us of your past illnesses, medication, hospital admissions and any other relevant details.

We take seriously any threatening, abusive or violent behaviour against any of our staff or patients. If a patient is violent or abusive, they will be warned to stop their behaviour. If they persist, we may exercise our right to take action to have them removed, immediately if necessary, from our list of patients. This also includes where behaviour is persistent or unreasonable. We understand it can be frustrating if you are unable to get an appointment, but it is not OK to be unreasonably persistent as this prevents our team helping other patients.

We respect your right to privacy and keep all your health information confidential and secure. It is important that the NHS keeps accurate and up-to-date records about your health and treatment so that those treating you can give you the best possible care.

This information may be used for management and audit purposes. However, it is usually only available to, and used by, those involved in your care. You have the right to know what information we hold about you. If you would like to see your records please contact the practice.

Disabled Access

There is good access for the disabled to our practice and consulting rooms. The practice has a ramp and wide doors to allow for wheelchair access. If you are in a wheelchair, please let us know when making an appointment so we can arrange for you to be seen in a ground-floor consulting room.

Infection Control

We publish the outcome of our most recent infection control inspection by Stockport Council, which you can find here.

Named GP

All patients at the practice have a named GP who is responsible for coordinating their care. Your named GP will be allocated by the practice, but you can still make appointments with any of our doctors and nurses, not just your named GP. If you have a particular preference, just let our reception team know, but we can’t guarantee you’ll always be seen by a particular clinician due to availability.

Training the Next Generation of Clinicians

Cheadle Medical Practice was one of the first ‘training practices’ in Stockport. This means qualified doctors wanting to become GPs spend time with us as part of their training.

We also take student placements from medical students, nursing students, and trainee physician associates.
